A glimmer of hope: airlines expected to report losses for March quarter. But the worst may be over.

Most aviation analysts expect airlines to report losses in the March quarter. Though higher fuel prices and other input costs continue to hurt them, the recovery in passenger traffic is an encouraging sign. If fuel prices cool down going forward, it could be a rocky yet brighter year for airlines.
