A free outdoor cinema is returning to London – here’s where and what’s on
A trip to the cinema doesn’t exactly scream sunny, summer, vibes – but now, you can watch your favourite movies, and get some much-needed Vitamin D too.
Everyman is bringing back their annual al fresco cinema to London, this time, on the Ghat Steps in King’s Cross – you know, those chunky steps overlooking Regent’s Canal, just off Granary Square.
It’s completely free, running from 22 June to 6 August, and will show an impressive roster of films, including The Devil Wears Prada, Cool Runnings, Hunger Games, and Romeo + Juliet.
Films run throughout the day with showings at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7.30pm.
So how do you get tickets? Well, you don’t.
Screen on the Canal is completely free and un-ticketed, so you can just turn up whenever you fancy.
Of course, any free event in London is likely to be busy, especially as it’s un-ticketed, so make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment.
Alongside the movies, Everyman will also be serving up pizza and nibbles, plus wine, beer, and summer cocktails, so you can have the full cinema experience under the sun.
And good news for tennis fans: Everyman will also have a screen during Wimbledon, from 3 to 16 July.
So grab your picnic blanket, sun cream and shades, and head on down.
