Robert De Niro’s daughter’s tragic last post with son Leandro revealed
Drena De Niro, the adopted daughter of Robert De Niro, shared a heartbreaking post of her son just weeks before he died aged 19.
The devastated mother announced on Instagram on Monday morning that her son Leandro De Niro Rodriguez had died, adding that she does not know how she will live without him.
‘You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you,’ she wrote. ‘I’m so sorry my baby.’
Seven weeks ago Drena had shared several pictures of Rodriguez to mark Mother’s Day, along with snaps of her pet dog.
Captioning the upload, she wrote: ‘Lots of memories of my soulmate, fur baby Daisy ???? Today was a good day.’
At the time, Drena’s followers pointed out just how similar she and her son look, with American television personality Victoria Gotti writing: ‘My God you two look SO much alike!’
Another fan said: ‘You look so much alike.’
A third simply commented: ‘Twins.’
Tributes have been pouring in following Rodriguez’s death with supermodel Naomi Campbell saying: ‘Drena heartbroken for you, such a duo. I can’t imagine how you must feel.
‘May the lord cover you and hold you in his arms at this very sad time and loss. I love you, always here for you.’
Actress Lana Parrilla penned: ‘Drena, I’m so deeply sorry. Sending you an enormous amount of love, prayers and strength. May God be with you and all who love your darling boy.’
DJ Fat Tony added: ‘Stay strong you beautiful woman.’
Drena is the adopted daughter of Robert after his marriage to the actress Diahnne Abbott.
Hollywood star Robert is also father to Raphael, Julian, Aaron, Elliot, Helen, and Gia.
