Harrison Ford surprised by Ke Huy Quan in Indiana Jones 5 premiere reunion

Back in 1984, Harrison Ford returned for his second outing as the archaeologist adventurer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Joining him in the prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark was rising child star Ke Huy Quan as sidekick Short Round.

Quan went on to play Data in The Goonies a year later, however, he soon found he struggled to get acting opportunities in the 1990s and went behind the camera.

Yet last year the 51-year-old returned to his original passion to co-star opposite Michelle Yeoh in the acclaimed multiverse movie Everything Everywhere All At Once.

The comeback star went on the win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar this year where he was greeted on stage by Ford with a big hug.

And now, almost 40 years since they first worked together, the pair had been reunited once again at the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Los Angeles premiere.

Last night, Ford was giving interviewing on the Hollywood Boulevard red carpet, when Quan snuck up behind him and surprised the 80-year-old legend.

The Indiana Jones star exclaimed to his former co-star: “You’re all grown up!”

Speaking to ET News on the red carpet, the Short Round actor said: “Honestly, every time I see him — he’s such a gracious man, such a humble man. And the reason why I love acting so much is because of him, because of that experience that we had on Temple Of Doom. So, here we are so many years later.”

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, was set in 1935 and the fifth and final movie takes place in 1969.

The new film also opens in World War II with a digitally de-aged Ford being captured by Nazis.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits UK cinemas on June 28, 2022.
