Last year’s Love Island winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti are reportedly still having ‘struggles’.
The TV stars, both 28, scooped the £50,000 prize after winning last year’s series when the general public fell in love with their feisty characters, and, well, they fell for each other.
Some of the most iconic moments in the show’s long history seem to have come from the duo, from Ekin-Su’s memorable crawl, to Davide’s exasperated outbursts, like when he said his beau was as ‘fake as a Louis Vuitton from China’.
Despite their in-villa bickering, the Turkish influencer and the Italian model always found themselves drawn to one another’s electric personalities.
So much so, they are still together almost a year on.
However, while they looked to be going strong, the past few months have surfaced ‘cheating’ rumours surrounding Davide and ‘two models’.
According to reports in April, the former Dancing On Ice star was ‘fuming and upset’ with the boohooMAN ambassador, after allegedly finding messages on his phone from the models.
But shortly after, Ekin-Su and Davide put the rumours to bed as they said ‘of course’ they were still together when asked by a fan on Instagram.
Now, in an interview with The Sun Online, Davide admitted the pair still have their ‘struggles’ due to their ‘public positions’.
He said: ‘Me and Ekin-Su had our struggles due to our public positions and we still have them sometimes.
‘If there’s something that I would change or would have done differently [with Ekin-Su in the villa] maybe I would have taken things a bit more slowly.
‘The best thing about dating Ekin Su is that we understand each other – not just because we are literally the same person.
Sweetly, Davide then dubbed Ekin-Su his ‘copy and paste’.
He also confessed their families both love them together, and their romantic success is also down to them sharing similar backgrounds.
Earlier this year Davide exclusively told Metro.co.uk he did Love Island because he wanted to find a ‘genuine person’.
He said: ‘I did the show because I wanted to find a genuine person.
‘I wanted to find love and now I feel like I’ve got everything I’ve been asking for. I find myself really good with Ekin.
‘We’ve got really good intentions for the future, we’re probably going to get married so I feel like I’ve got everything I wanted.’
