Inside Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler’s elite side hustle
Jimmy Butler is the man on and off the court.
The 33-year-old NBA star built a coffee business from inside the NBA’s bubble and has now grown it into a successful business.
Butler signed a four-year contract extension with the Miami Heat in 2021 for $184million but decided he wanted to grow his portfolio.
When the NBA got shut down and sent to Orlando to play in the “Bubble,” Butler got into the coffee business creating Big Face.
He purchased equipment and began selling coffee around the bubble.
The six-time NBA All-Star sold cups for 20$, and he knew that with the limited options around the bubble, he knew players would cave to his high price point.
Butler received positive reviews and profit, and when the NBA bubble season concluded, he took his company to the next level.
He built a business entity, got his company trademarked, and purchased $60,000 in coffee beans.
Big Face officially launched in 2021, and Butler has promoted the brand at several marquee events.
He had a pop-up at the Miami Tennis Open and collaborated with the hat company LIDS.
Butler hopes to sell his coffee at $100 a cup — if he achieves that, he will have 1Billion in sales after 10 million cups are sold.
The Chicago Bulls took the Marquette alum in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft with the 30th pick.
Butler has played 11 seasons in the NBA and has appeared in six all-star games.
He also has been selected to the All-NBA and All-defensive team five times.
Butler and the Heat are currently in the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets. The series is tied at 1-1 with Game 3 on Wednesday.
