Jack Grealish gives cheeky invite to Micah Richards after Man City FA Cup win
Jack Grealish hilariously invited Micah Richards out for a party after Manchester City beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final. The England star played a crucial role in City’s victory during an all-Manchester showdown, despite controversially conceding a first-half penalty.
Pep Guardiola’s side went closer to winning a remarkable treble of football’s biggest honours by lifting the FA Cup. Ilkay Gundogan struck a brace in a 2-1 triumph over United, including scoring a record-breaking goal after just 13 seconds.
The Premier League champions now have a chance of winning the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history next weekend. Partyboy Grealish insists he will take just one night to celebrate before spending the next seven days preparing to face Inter Milan.
However, the 27-year-old made a cheeky offer to former City defender Richards, who was providing punditry for the BBC. Reflecting on the win, Grealish said: “Of course, I’ll enjoy myself, it’s my first [FA Cup]. But then tomorrow it will be straight back in for recovery and stuff. I just can’t wait for next week now.
“I love this team so much. I love the players, the staff. I just hope we can have a good week and go into next week with confidence.”
It was put to Grealish that Richards would want to join him in celebrating City’s win. Grealish looked into the camera and quipped: “He’s more than welcome! Meeks, get yourself down there, son!”
