American actress Jane Fonda, 85, insisted flexibility is the key to having great sex over the age of 50.
She became a household name when she starred in Barbarella in 1968 and has proved she is still every inch the sex symbol she was back then with her youthful attitude towards sex.
Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, she told the Telegraph: “You have to stay flexible if you want to continue having sex when you’re over 50.”
She added: “You’ve got to be able to put your legs over your head, right? I can still do that.”

Fonda advised that if you want to feel your best like she does in her 80s, then you must work out throughout your 40s and 50s.
She said: “I started really working out in my 40s, but before I started, I felt like I was falling apart. So it’s not too late. Just start doing it.”
Fonda credits her general good health to the routine she formed when she was younger, as she stated: “I’ve always stayed fit and worked out – that has always been important to me. That’s helped keep me looking OK.”
Despite admitting she doesn’t like exercise; she forces herself to move.
“I force myself to do it, because it makes a difference not just in my body, but in my brain,” the actress explained. “If I go too long without taking a long walk or working out, I tend to get depressed.”
She went on: “I come from a long line of depressed people. If you don’t work out when you’re young, your body will forgive you. “When you’re older, if you don’t keep moving, stay flexible and keep your muscles strong, it makes a difference.”
Her Hollywood career has spanned over 64 years and is still going from strength to strength as her latest blockbuster is in cinemas now – Vietnam War.
The film follows four friends (played by Fonda, Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen) who get together in later life and take a rosé fuelled trip to Italy which they never managed to do when they were younger.
