Toney diagnosed as gambling addict as full reasons for ban revealed
BRENTFORD star Ivan Toney’s betting breaches included 13 against his OWN team.
He was slapped with an eight-month ban from football.
Toney was diagnosed as a gambling addict and admitted to lying to the FA.
The striker could have been hit with a much harsher penalty of 15 matches.
However, the governing body decided to cut his ban in half after he admitted his guilt and addiction.
The shock FA statement said that Toney placed 13 bets on his own team between August 2017 and March 2018.
11 of them came against Newcastle, his parent club, while on loan at Wigan.
