Kourtney Kardashian on hopes for baby with Travis Barker after IVF struggles
Kourtney Kardashian started season three of the Kardashians in style, running off to have sex with husband Travis Barker while her sibling was waiting.
The couple, who tied the knot in a luxury wedding last May, have been trying to have a child together for months, and previously turned to IVF to aid their efforts.
In the first episode of the new series, the 43-year-old’s ovulation schedule unfortunately coincided with a visit from Khloe Kardashian, meaning that her sister was left to her own devices for a few minutes.
‘I know that I’m already late for you but I am ovulating,’ the mom-of-three informed the Good American designer, 38, as she arrived at her home.
‘Do you mind if you give us five minutes to go do something really fast?’
A baffled Khloe quipped: ‘Can Travis do it in five?’
‘Yeah, he can! You wait here, we’ll be back,’ she replied, before her sibling set a timer to test her promise.
Kourtney excitedly ran back into the room 15 minutes later, and admitted that she had spent the first few moments just laughing about the situation with the Blink-182 rocker, 47.
‘The fact you’d want another baby just blows my mind,’ Khloe said. ‘It’s your time to be free and have fun.
‘You’re a newlywed literally in your honeymoon stage. This is the prime of you and him being obsessive with each other.’
The Poosh founder is already mom to children Mason, Penelope, and Reign, seven, with former partner Scott Disick, while Travis shares Landon and Alabama with ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
She has been open about her hopes to have a child with the drummer, and shed light on the impact that IVF procedures had had on her body during the last series.
Last October, she announced that they had decided to put their fertility treatments on hold to ‘try things naturally’, after claiming that IVF ‘put her into menopause’.
Speaking in a confessional, the Lemme owner couldn’t help but rave about married life with the drummer, explaining that they are now embracing their ‘full, blessed life’.
‘We are officially done with IVF,’ she told the camera in the premiere. ‘We would love a baby more than anything, but I just really believe in what God has in store for us. If that is a baby then I believe it will happen.
‘I had seven frozen eggs from years ago, before Travis. When I was 38-39, everyone was pushing me to do that.
‘Most of mine didn’t survive the thaw and then none of them made it to an embryo. The freezing of the eggs isn’t guaranteed and I think that’s a misunderstanding. People do it thinking it’s a safety net and it’s not.’
‘All the things that came along with IVF took a toll on me physically,’ she added. ‘My health is still impacted because it’s hormones.
‘Also, mentally, it definitely took a toll. I think just being happy is most important and being a good parent to my kids. We’re just embracing that whatever is meant to be, will be.
‘Whatever is meant to be, we have a full, blessed life and I’m happy.’
The Kardashians airs on Hulu in the US and is available to stream on Disney+ in the UK.
