After all, who doesn’t love a long-term renovation project on a home, especially when it’s a sprawling property with an estimated eye-watering value of £3.5million?
The built-from-scratch house has already attracted praise and salivation over its sleek, bespoke bathroom and kitchen during its so far two-year journey to (almost) completion.
However, a recent upload onto the couple’s home Instagram account, which is run by Mark and has chartered the journey of their dream home build so far to its 555,000 followers, generated some confusion on Sunday.
Former Towie star Mark, 36, and actress Michelle, 35, who married in 2015, revealed the latest peek inside thier home, which featured the living room.
‘Scatter cushions finishing our living room sofa perfectly ???? Sofa & cushions by @bellahomeinteriors,’ the caption read as a clip showed their gigantic three-section sofa being populated with multiple cushions in a quick reveal.
Seriously, we’re counting at least 16.
‘That’s a lorra cushions to be puffing up before bedtime ???? looks stunning ????,’ quipped one fan in the comments, while another added: ‘Not sure u have enough ????’
‘Chopping cushions must be old hat by now surely!’ joked a third.
However, others took the perceived excess even further, with one person asking: ‘And who has time to go around karate chopping a million cushions every day?’
Another complained: ‘Sofa looks far better without all the cushions! It went from a nice modern shape to then all of a sudden a fogey sofa from the 1980s!’
Well, as the internet always proves to us, everyone has to have an opinion.
Mark recently revealed that a weather-related disaster at their new pad had set them back, reportedly by a massive £30,000.
The presenter explained that ‘Christmas snow’ had stunted the growth of the tress he’d bought and planted to afford him and Michelle some privacy around the border of their property.
According to MailOnline, he explained on Heart Radio: ‘I planted some trees in my garden and they all died, and it’s devastating because I spent so long watching them thinking “please grow”.
‘They were my boundary trees to give me a little bit of privacy, and the company blamed it on the soil because obviously the wrong soil can make your plants go bad.
‘I ended up finding out they recommended the wrong plants to me, and it was because they’re not supposed to be out in the open in anything below minus five degrees and at Christmas time it was like minus 15 when it snowed.’
Back in 2021, the Mirror reported that Mark and 35-year-old Michelle had 60 trees from Tuscany delivered that cost between £500 and £1,000 each, making their total cost £30,000.
