Recover accidentally deleted photos using these simple steps – Times of India
Capturing precious moments using the phone’s camera is a common practice. However, it is not uncommon to accidentally delete photos or videos from the gallery, and losing important photos can be a frustrating experience. The good news is that there are ways using which you can recover deleted photos and videos. In fact, even if you’ve permanently deleted the photos, they can be recovered. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to recover accidentally deleted photos on an Android device.
Before moving ahead with the steps you are supposed to take, the first thing you should do is stop using the device immediately as soon as you realise that you’ve deleted the wrong photo or video. This is important because when you use your device, new data can overwrite the space where the deleted photos were stored, making them unrecoverable.
Check the Recycle Bin
Almost every Android smartphone comes with a built-in Recycle Bin or Trash option in the gallery app. Photos and videos deleted from the Gallery app first get stored in Recycle Bin and then automatically get deleted after a certain interval of time, like 30 days, 60 days, and so on.
To access the Recycle Bin, open the Gallery app, tap the three-dot menu button, and select Recycle Bin or Trash.
Check cloud storage
If you use any cloud storage service like Google Drive, Google Photos, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc, to backup your photos and videos, it may have backed up the deleted data from the gallery. Check your account to see if the photos are still there.
Restore from a backup
If you have a backup of your device, you can restore your deleted photos from the backup.
To restore from a Google backup, go to Settings > System > Backup and Restore > Restore. Select the backup you want to restore from and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Use third-party photo recovery software
If all of the above options failed for you, then you can use reliable data recovery software to recover permanently deleted photos and videos. There are several options available on Google Play Store, like DiskDigger, EaseUS, MobiSaver, Recuva, etc.
All you need to do is download and install the app on your smartphone or computer. Run the scan and recover the photos.
Note: Use third-party software at your own risk.
