Bruce Willis, Emma Heming Willis wedding vow renewal keeps ‘memories safe, alive’

Emma Heming Willis has shared her 2019 wedding vow renewal with husband Bruce Willis to mark their 14th anniversary amid the actor’s recent dementia diagnosis.

Heming Willis, 44, offered a touching glimpse of their 10th-anniversary ceremony in an Instagram Reel posted Wednesday, accompanied by the Coldplay song “Fix You.”

In the caption, she wrote that the 68-year-old Willis’ ex-wife, Demi Moore, 60, was the couple’s videographer, while Willis and Moore’s daughters Rumer, 34, and Scout, 31, sang accompanied by guitar during the intimate outdoor gathering.

Willis and Moore’s third daughter, Tallulah, 29, did not seem to be in attendance, though she was photographed with her dad recently.

Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis’ two daughters, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8, were the flower girls, wearing the same white and floral-patterned dresses as their mother.

Film producer and Willis’ longtime friend Stephen Eads officiated.

“On our 10th wedding anniversary we decided to renew our vows in the same place we said ‘I do’ back in 2009. I’m so happy we did,” Heming Willis wrote in the post.

“Seize every opportunity to unite and celebrate with family and friends. Those are the moments and beautiful pockets of memories that you get to hold on to for a lifetime. And we get to keep those memories safe and alive for the ones that might not be able to,” she continued.

The “Die Hard” actor’s family announced his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis last month after he retired from acting in March 2022 due to his battle with aphasia, which can affect a person’s ability to speak, write and understand language.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” the blended family wrote in a joint statement. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.

Earlier this week, Willis’ loved ones threw a party for his 68th birthday. Heming Willis admitted that the day was bittersweet.

“I just think it’s important that you see all sides of this,” she said in an Instagram Reel in which she thanked fans for their well wishes but also revealed that she had been crying all morning.

“I always get this message, or people always tell me, ‘Oh, you’re so strong. I don’t know how you do it.’ I’m not given a choice,” she wrote, noting that she’s putting on her “big girl panties” to be strong for their young daughters.

“I do have times of sadness, every day, grief every day, and I’m really feeling it today on his birthday,” Heming Willis added.
