Melania Trump is MIA while Donald plays golf
Melania Trump has not been spotted in public since New Year’s Eve, 82 days ago, when she and Donald welcomed friends and family to their Palm Beach estate of Mar-a-Lago for a party. The former-First Lady was all smiled next to her husband, but the public has seen neither hide nor hair of her since.
Mr. Trump, on the other hand, has been making visits to disaster sites, been caught dancing at weddings on TikTok, and playing golf since the New Year.
Most recently he was seen lunching at a gold clubhouse with golfer Brooks Keokja, despite awaiting a possible arrest.
The former president, who is running for president again in next year’s contest, predicted he would be arrested on Tuesday on his platform Truth Social.
The business mogul may be detained by New York authorities over an alleged hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
On Saturday Trump wrote it was a “political witch-hunt trying to take down the leading candidate, by far, in the Republican Party”.
He added “I did absolutely nothing wrong” and dubbed the justice “corrupt, depraved and weaponised.”
Besides his recent golf lunch, Trump has been spotted socialising at a number of events in Mar-a-Lago and Florida. He appeared at a wedding on 16 March, smiling and giving a thumbs-up to the camera.
On February 27 he appeared at another wedding, and was snapped next to the bride, and spoke to the crowd with a microphone.
The same happened again a week or so earlier, and in a recent TikTok video, he was spotted dancing with the crowd at a family event.
Melania was not present at any of these events, despite the fact she is believed to be living at Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach.
Trump has been making more serious public visits too. He travelled to the site of the toxic derailment in Ohio in February, where he spoke to locals. Melania did not travel with him.
Twitter use has Tee asked: “How come we never see him with his wife Melania anymore?”
But, Melania has made herself known, albeit not in person. The former model used her social media to break a months-long silence earlier this month.
Melania took to Twitter to celebrate International Women’s Day. She wrote: “On International Women’s Day, we are reminded that all women have unique gifts to share with the world, and we must lift each other up to achieve our collective goals and dreams.”
The message, while innocuous, proved divisive. Many vocalised strong support for the former-First Lady but others criticised her tweet.
