Morias: I loved playing for Dagenham & Redbridge

The 27-year-old was signed by previous manager Daryl McMahon from King’s Lynn Town in November 2021 and went on to score 27 goals in 61 appearances in all competitions.

But he follows fellow strikers Josh Walker and Paul McCallum, who joined Burton Albion and Chesterfield respectively, in moving on since the end of January and took to social media to post a message to fans.

“Daggers fans – I want to say a massive thank you for welcoming and support me from day 1. I’ve loved playing and giving my all for you and the club,” said Morias.

“I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to progress my career with Notts County but it wouldn’t have been possible without @darylpmcmahon @daggersofficial believing in me.

“I wish all the staff, players and fans the best of luck for the future and now look forward to what ahead. God bless you.”

Daggers are set to host Oldham Athletic on Saturday, as new manager Ben Strevens takes charge for the first time.

Morias, meanwhile, will have to wait to make his debut for the Magpies as he is currently sidelined with an injury, but new boss Luke Williams welcomed him to Meadow Lane.

“As with any new signing, once Junior’s recovered he’ll need to get up to speed with the pressing and key actions we expect from our front guys,” Williams told the club website.

“All that will come in time – but our first priority is to get him back to fitness and adjusting to the intensity.

“We’ve got brilliant medical staff here who’ll ensure he’s on the best course once we’ve fully assessed where he is.

“He’s got the key traits we’re looking for as a professional, including the desire to do the hard yards.

“Junior will play in different positions for us in a similar way to Cedwyn Scott and Connor Lemonheigh-Evans, so he gives us more options and different qualities in our attacking line-up.

“He adds tremendous power, pace and aggression and we’ll hopefully provide plenty of opportunities for him to continue his goalscoring form. He’ll then have a chance to show us how ruthless he can be.”
