Brilliant Broncos’ try of the year contender
The NRL season is only three games in, but already fans have been treated to an early try of the year contender.
In the 20th minute of the round one clash between the Panthers and Broncos at BlueBet Stadium, won by Brisbane 13-12, Billy Walters put on a stunning skip to wrong-foot the Penrith defence, before putting Ezra Mam in a gap.
The livewire tore down the field and put in a kick, before Herbie Farnworth beat Brian To’o in a phenomenal race for the footy. Farnworth dove at full stretch and was just about on top of To’o when he planted the ball.

It was the Dolphins-bound Farnworth’s second try of the night to put the Broncos in front.
It silenced the home crowd and left commentators stunned.
“He’s an athlete, Herbie Farnworth,” Andrew Johns said on the Nine coverage.
For the first points of the game, Stephen Crichton had started his final season with the Panthers in slick style, scoring a long-range try.
The Panthers spread the ball to the right in their own half of the field and cut up the Broncos with a chain of passes and speed.
“It’s brilliant football,” Phil Gould said.
“Some quick hands, beautiful work by Crichton, Liam Martin gets on the outside, gets a pass back inside that could have been intercepted, Dylan Edwards gets it and Crichton backs up, shows a lot of speed to get around Selwyn Cobbo.
“That’s a brilliant try from their own end of the field.”
Johns marvelled at Crichton’s swagger, noting he had “shown much confidence”.
