Stunning collection of sporty BMWs set to fetch half a million at auction
A COLLECTION of sporty BMWs are expected to fetch half a million pounds when they go under the hammer.
The M power collection of five flash motors are set to be auctioned off together in Italy.
The top three in the collection include, a 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evolution.
It is one of just 600 Sport Evolution variants of the landmark E30 M3, it has been finished in Brilliantrot paint over a black interior.
This model is expected to sell for up to £193,000 (€220,000) at the auction taking place at Villa Erba, Italy, in May.
Also being auctioned is a 2003 BMW M3 CSL, the ultimate example of the E46 M3, boasting a remarkable 110-kilogram weight loss compared to the conventional M3 of the same generation.
This example is presented in Grey Metallic paint and has only two owners over its 20-year life, estimated to fetch £141,000 (€160,000).
Another example in the collection is the 2010 BMW M3 GTS, an extreme sport version of the standard M Sport derivative.
Boasting a limited-production run of just 150 units, this is one of the rarest M variants ever produced.
Finished in its striking Fire Orange colour, this example underwent serious weight-saving to get it to GTS specification, plus an increase in engine capacity from 4.0 to 4.4 litres and a titanium exhaust silencer, estimated at up to £176,000 (€200,000).
