Vice Ganda gets called out for ‘unfair treatment’ of ‘It’s Showtime’ co-host Karylle
Vice Ganda admitted that his recent banter with his “It’s Showtime” co-host Karylle was out of the line, and vowed that he will make it up to the actress-singer as well as the viewers.
The comedian was earlier called out by netizens after he apparently talked to Karylle in a sarcastic tone during an episode of the noontime variety show on Thursday, Feb. 2. Karylle was recalling an instance when their co-host Vhong Navarro rehearsed a certain song but was not able to perform during the show, because Vice Ganda suddenly assigned the song to someone else.
“Anong problema natin, Karylle? (What’s our problem then, Karylle?)” Vice Ganda asked, to which she responded, “Natatawa lang kami kasi nga ni-practice daw [ni Vhong].” (We just find it funny because Vhong rehearsed for it.)
“OK na ‘yan (That’s already OK), Karylle,” the comedian said, dismissing the conversation.
A clip of their exchange made rounds on social media, particularly on Twitter, eliciting comments from netizens who called for “respect” and “fair treatment” of Karylle.
“I felt bad for Karylle. She deserves better,” one @clintonfredsua2 tweeted. “Kung may ill feeling ka, be professional on screen and talk it out privately ‘di ‘yung on national TV pa talaga na parang bastusan.” (If you have ill feelings towards her, be professional on screen and talk it out privately instead of seemingly disrespecting her on national TV.)

“I want to defend you [Vice Ganda] but I can’t. The way you’re treating Karylle is too much,” a certain @hikatjaaa stated. “Being friends with a person doesn’t excuse your behavior. Seeing you shrug them off like that while they’re talking, it’s so off. Please don’t see this as hate. Please learn from this.”
