TL;DR

  • Garmin announced its newest hybrid device, the new Garmin Vivomove Trend.
  • The stylish smartwatch features ticking watch hands, a hidden display, and a variety of Garmin’s health and fitness tracking tools.
  • The Vivomove Trend is available now in multiple colorways starting at $269.

Garmin’s latest addition to its complex wearables lineup includes a new hybrid smartwatch. The long-rumored Garmin Vivomove Trend launched today and features a classic analog aesthetic housing undercover smarts. Out of the box, shoppers will recognize familiar real ticking watch hands as well as Garmin’s unique hidden display. Like on other hybrids from the company, the Trend’s dynamic hands move out of the way when users wish to view health stats or tap into smart features.

Below the surface, the Vivomove Trend offers smartphone notifications, health and activity tracking, and contactless payment support for utilizing Garmin Pay. It pairs with both Android and Apple phones; however, quick-reply is only available to Android users. On the sensor front, the watch features continuous heart rate monitoring (with abnormal heart rate alerts), SpO2 monitoring, and stress and sleep tracking. For those who menstruate, the device also supports Garmin’s women’s health tracking. Additional highlights from the brand’s ecosystem include Body Battery and Fitness Age.

One defining feature of the new device is wireless charging. Rather than a bulky cord or temperamental connection, users can set and forget the Trend on compatible Qi-certified charging pads. Once charged up, it offers a battery life of up to five days in smartwatch mode.

The Garmin Vivomove Trend is available in a variety of attractive colorways, including Cream Gold and French Gray, Peach Gold and Ivory, Slate and Black, and Silver and Mist Gray. Customers can also design their own color combinations on Garmin.com. The device is available now starting at $269.
