England star Jarrod Bowen visits hospice with West Ham teammates

An England star was among West Ham footballers to visit a hospice and bring some Christmas cheer to patients.

Jarrod Bowen went to Saint Francis Hospice, in Havering-atte-Bower, with Hammers teammates Darren Randolph and Freddie Potts earlier this month.

The trio met patients and their families, handed out gifts and gave West Ham scarves to nurses and staff at the hospice – which cares for people with life-limiting illnesses in east London and Essex.

Lisa Denison, the charity’s local engagement manager, thanked the West Ham United Foundation for arranging the visit.

She said: “The players and the staff from the foundation were incredible and to say they lifted people’s spirits is an understatement.

“They spent so much time with the patients and families and were genuinely interested in everyone they met and showed so much compassion and kindness.

“They had such a positive impact on people who are going through such a difficult time in their lives.

“One of our patients were so overwhelmed with happiness he cried and patients have told us that this is an experience that they will never forget.”
