Missing The Traitors already? More shows to watch while we hope for series 2
Combining the concept of game Among Us with the all the drama between contestants that Big Brother brings, the BBC series follows 22 contestants trying to win £120,000.
But, planted among them are three Traitors who ‘murder’ the remaining Faithfuls by night, and by day, lie to avoid being ‘banished’.
After an intense 12 episodes, more tears and backstabbing than we could have ever expected, and possibly the most unpredictable outcome (no spoilers here!), the first series has finally come to an end.
And although fans are begging for a reunion episode and desperate for season two to be confirmed, here are some other shows to fill The Traitors-shaped hole in your heart.
The Traitors Australia
If you can’t get enough of the concept, it’s time to start the Aussie version of the game show.
Both reality programmes were based on Dutch series De Verraders, with the Australian version hosted by actor Rodger Corser.
The Traitors Australia saw 24 players play for $250,000 in silver bars, and is available to stream on 10 Play depending on your location.
The Mole
For more lies and deception, with one player hiding their real motives from the others, The Mole should be on your list.
The reality competition originally aired for five seasons on ABC from 2002, before returning on Netflix with Alex Wagner hosting.
The ‘Mole’ is one contestant who has to sabotage challenges without the others realising who they are – but will they manage to keep their identity under wraps?
The Circle
Yes, it may have been axed by Channel 4, but The Circle UK has given us some of the most iconic reality TV moments which have gone largely under the radar.
It’s hosted by presenting royalty, Emma Willis, where players can only communicate and compete against each other through a specially-designed, voice-activated social media platform called The Circle.
The contestants then routinely vote for the most popular players, who then become influencers, and have the power to choose who is ‘blocked’ and eliminated from The Circle.
Coming soon: The Traitors US
The Traitors US is set to hit screens very soon, and we can’t wait.
The competition has now been picked up by Peacock, with Alan Cumming serving as host for the ‘psychological adventure’, in which those taking part can win $250,000.
In an added twist, celebrities will also be joining the battle, including Below Deck icon Kate Chastain, Real Housewives’ Brandi Glanville, Survivor stars Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa, and Big Brother’s Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly among them.
They will be playing alongside civilian contestants including an influencer, a yoga instructor, a nurse and a political analyst.
The series will kick off in January, with all episodes dropping on the same day.
The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
