Inside Portland Hospital – where Princess Beatrice could be giving birth

Princess Beatrice announced in May she was expecting her first child with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and her baby is due this autumn. Royal commentator Robert Jobson tweeted on September 18 at 11:44 PM: “Princess Beatrice is reportedly in a London hospital. Looks like the birth of The Queen’s 12th great-grandchild imminent.”

Therefore, it would make sense Beatrice would choose a hospital both her mother and sister have had good experiences in.

Princess Beatrice has reportedly been staying at St James’s Palace with her husband Edo, and the Portland Hospital is only a 15-minute drive away from the royal home, so it would be the perfect geographical location.

The prestigious London hospital is very luxurious.

Each room comes with 24-hour room service, luxurious Molton Brown toiletries, guaranteed en-suites, and a separate lounge area in the more expensive suites.

DON’T MISS:

Elsewhere, there is a nursery for newborn babies, where mothers can check in their babies for the night in order to catch up on their sleep.

Nurses will be on hand to change their nappies and care for the babies.

New mothers are presented with a celebration meal after giving birth, which typically includes afternoon tea, lobster, oysters, foie gras and champagne, all delivered on silver platters, as well as daily afternoon tea.

The Portland Hospital maternity ward contains furniture from Dragons of Walton Street, where prices range from £3,500 for a Moses basket, to £14,000 for a four-poster cot.

Therefore, Princess Beatrice will be very comfortable and well looked after if she chose the Portland Hospital.

Mothers and babies are sent away with a goodie bag complete with toys, champagne, and a newborn photoshoot voucher.

The Portland Hospital website has a list of all the fees. The cheapest consultant-led birth package costs a whopping £6,760.

As well as everything listed above, that will also provide you with postnatal physiotherapy, a one night stay for both mother and partner, afternoon tea and breakfast daily, and midwife care throughout.

Theatre fees, however, are not included.

The most expensive consultant-led birth package costs £8,110, for an emergency c-section.

None of these packages include midwife care, however. If you want a Portland midwife to look after you during your pregnancy, the cheapest package is £9,950, which begins at the 30th week of pregnancy. Care starting from the 10th week costs £11,450.

Any additional nights spent at the Portland Hospital Maternity Ward costs a minimum of £1,250, while the premier suite costs £3,340 per night.

Reportedly, there are exclusive rooms reserved specifically for royals and celebrities, where Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie are likely to have stayed, that cost upwards of £5,000 per night.
