Scarlette Douglas admits Kanye West is her ‘nightmare’ I’m A Celeb campmate
The former A Place In The Sun presenter is set to join the likes of Boy George, Love Island’s Olivia Attwood and Mike Tindall as a new batch of celebs head into the jungle for some grim bushtucker trials.
And while she previously admitted she’d be keen for Mo Gilligan to join, calling him her ‘dream’ campmate, Scarlette told Metro.co.uk when asked who her ‘nightmare’ campmate would be: ‘Kanye West, we’ll leave that there.’
Kanye, who has legally changed his name to Ye, has faced several brands and companies ending their partnerships with him, and him dropping off the Forbes billionaire list amid controversial remarks. Meanwhile, Madame Tussauds even removed its wax figure of Kanye from public view.
The rapper had been ranked earlier this year at number 1,513 on Forbes’ rich list, valued at two billion dollars (£1.5 billion) due to his fashion brands and deal with Adidas.
Everywhere that’s cut ties with Kanye West
Several brands have ceased business with Kanye West following backlash in recent weeks, after the rapper was seen wearing a ‘white lives matter’ top and making widely-criticised anti-semitic remarks.
Here’s who has cut ties with the musician as of late:
- Balenciaga
- Vogue Magazine and its editor, Anna Wintour
- Talent agency CAA (Creative Artists Agency)
- Adidas
- Gap
- Footlocker
- Scholastic Play-By-Play Classics
- Madame Tussauds
- Lawyer Camille Vasquez, who represented Johnny Depp, is also reportedly now not representing West after he hired her
- TJ Maxx
This comes after Kanye made offensive comments about the Jewish community in a series of social media posts.
The Grammy-winning rapper initially doubled down on his stance, after saying he was going to go ‘death con 3 on Jewish people’, before later apologising for causing upset.
Elsewhere, Scarlette told us about how she’ll be fitting in with her other campmates, which include Loose Women’s Charlene White and Lioness Jill Scott.
‘I’m very vocal,’ she said, before adding: ‘but not rude at all.’
‘I like to explain things to people because we all have blind spots.’
Ahead of heading Down Under, the TV personality explained in a statement that throughout her life, ‘for whatever reason people have doubted me’, as she stressed how big a moment it would be if she were crowned Queen of the Jungle.
‘This programme is always something I have wanted to do as I like to test myself. It’s the cherry on the icing on the cake,’ she said.
Aside from labelling Kanye as her ‘nightmare’ campmate, Scarlette also admitted she doesn’t get on well with ‘condescending people,’ and shared her concerns about being ‘a bit too hyper for everybody.’
I’m A Celebrity 2022 launches on Sunday November 6 at 9pm on ITV.
