Infosys gives out 60% variable pay for select BPM staff
The Bengaluru-based company has paid out for J4 to J6 levels – systems engineer to project manager levels, according to an email sent to the respective band of BPM employees. ET has seen a copy of the email.
Infosys has over 50,000 BPM workers worldwide, with most operating out of India.
The pay will be given out along with October salaries, it said.
In the April-June quarter, the company had
awarded 70% variable pay on average to all its employees.
This was due to pressure on the Bengaluru-based company’s operating margins in the quarter, it said.

Tata Consultancy Services will award 100% variable pay for 70% of its employees for the September quarter, it said during its second quarter earnings call.
Analysts say they expect variable pay to be better sequentially for employees this year as companies have shown improvement both in terms of revenue growth and margins compared to fiscal first quarter.
