Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ salad dressing drama, explained
This salad dressing is a recipe for separation.
The internet is speculating that a potential red-wine vinaigrette with Dijon mustard, honey, garlic and olive oil is at the center of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ sour custody battle after the duo’s former nanny claimed in a jarring Daily Mail interview that Wilde once took her homemade dressing and left the house to frolic with Harry Styles.
The former employee, who chose to remain anonymous, watched the couple’s children, Otis, now 8, and Daisy, 6, and claimed Sudeikis was extremely upset when Wilde reportedly prepared her “special salad dressing” for Styles. The nanny alleged that the “Ted Lasso” star threw himself under Wilde’s car in an attempt to thwart her from feeding the rock star. Sudeikis found out about Wilde’s affair with the former One Direction band member when he found messages between them on Wilde’s Apple Watch, according to the nanny.
The asinine allegations have sparked questions about what exactly Wilde was tossing in her dressing recipe, with some curious chowhounds regurgitating a 2020 Food Network special, “Questlove’s Potluck,” in which the “Don’t Worry Darling” director made a roasted salmon salad with zucchini and potatoes. The online recipe reveals the meal included, indeed, her simple spin on a French vinaigrette.
“Olivia Wilde shared the recipe on a Food Network show. Maybe it’s the one?” one citizen food journalist tweeted.
Another responded more critically to the homemade medley: “Harry it’s a basic salad dressing FREE YOURSELF.”
The dressing drama started when the former nanny shared a screenshot with the Daily Mail of an alleged text conversation she had with Sudeikis in which he reportedly claims that Wilde left their kids alone at home. “She left. She just left,” one message reads. “Took her salad, and dressing and left them.”
Naturally, the internet cooked various memes related to the salad dressing.
One gourmand posted a photo of actor Jeremy Allen White in character as chef Carmy from the FX culinary drama “The Bear,” with the caption: “Me after making Oliva Wilde’s special salad dressing.”
Another playful pop culture buff posted a photo of Harry Styles clutching a basket at a supermarket with the caption: “H trying to find all the ingredients for the perfect salad dressing.”
Others stooped as low as to comment on Wilde’s parenting.
“Imagine your mom being in love with salad dressing more than you,” one user tweeted.
