Star Trek: Picard’s third and final season is set to premiere on February 16, 2023, and NYCC’s Star Trek Universe panel gave fans a teaser filled with details on the upcoming story. First off, Tony Award-winner Amanda Plummer was shown off as the villainous Vadic, a “mysterious alien captain of the Shrike, a warship that has set its sights on Jean-Luc Picard and his old crewmates from his days on the Enterprise.”
Geordi La Forge’s daughters will also be joining their father, Picard, and the rest of the Next Generation crew on this final mission as Critical Role’s Mica Burton and Cruel Summer’s Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut will take on the roles of Ensign Alandra La Forge and Ensign Sidney La Forge, respectively.
Lastly, Next Generation fans will be happy to know that Brent Spiner will once again be playing Data’s brother Lore and Daniel Davis will once more play Professor James Moriarty in this final season.
During the panel, Jonathan Frakes revealed that his character, William Riker, is set to have a conflict of some kind with Picard and the series’ showrunner Terry Matalas said this final season will very much draw inspiration from the film Crimson Tide.
Patrick Stewart also made a plea to Paramount when he was asked if this would be the final time we’d see this beloved crew together, saying, “To the Paramount people in the room… We could still make a movie!”

Star Trek: Discovery’s fifth season will debut sometime in 2023 and Star Trek Universe revealed a bit more about what fans can expect in the form of a teaser and the reveal of some brand-new characters.
The Umbrella Academy and Jessica Jones’ Callum Keith Rennie is joining the cast as a series regular as Rayner, a “gruff, smart Starfleet Captain who holds a clear line between commander and crew – he leads, they follow.” He cares about the mission above all else and doesn’t care about others’ feelings he may hurt along the way. He will “get the job done and apologize later.” He succeeds during times of conflict and struggles during times of peace, and this mission will be a new test for him.
The 100 and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Eve Harlow will play Moll, a “former courier turned outlaw, who is highly intelligent and dangerous, with an impressive strategic mind and a sharp wit.” She loves nothing more than going into every situation with every angle planned out and won’t let anyone or anything get in her way.
Lastly, Shadowhunters and Blood of Zeus’ Elias Toufexis will take on the role of L’ak, a “former courier turned outlaw, who is tough, impulsive, and fiercely protective of his beloved partner, Moll.” L’ak places Moll’s safety above all else, and this will undoubtedly put him in conflict with Burnham and her crew.
In Season 5 of Star Trek: Discovery, “Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncover a mystery that sends them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well… dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.”

Star Trek: Prodigy’s first season will officially return on Thursday, October 27, and Star Trek Universe presented fans with a trailer that shows what’s in store for the crew of the U.S.S. Protostar in these final episodes.
As we race towards the Season 1 finale and the crew make their way toward Starfleet, “their dreams are threatened when they discover the U.S.S. Protostar harbors a weapon designed to tear the United Federation of Planets apart. To make matters worse, the U.S.S. Dauntless is on a manhunt for the Protostar as the real Vice Admiral Janeway is eager to uncover what happened to her missing former First Officer Chakotay. With these two ships on a collision course and destruction on the horizon, the fate of the Alpha Quadrant hands in the balance.”
It was also confirmed that Ronny Cox will reprise his The Next Generation role of Captain Edward Jellico, but now he is serving as Admiral. He will be joining the cast in a recurring role.
