Daniel Craig is no longer James Bond. He stepped down from the series following the release of his fifth movie, No Time To Die, after 15 years in the tuxedo. Now, Bond bosses are on the hunt for a brand new actor to take his place. The official announcement is likely not far away, but until then, the Bond odds are the best way to figure out who could be in the running. And in recent days, some major changes have occurred in the ever-changing 007 odds.
It has been announced that a newcomer has had his odds slashed to become the new-and-improved James Bond.
Callum Turner has been awarded 16/1 odds on taking his martinis shaken, not stirred. This enormous improvement in his odds comes from Ladbrokes.
The company revealed Turner’s odds were a meagre 25/1 at the beginning of the week. Following a flurry of bets in his name, his chances have been boosted drastically.
Turner is best known for appearing in two Harry Potter spin-off movies, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. In these films, he played Theseus Scamander – brother of Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander.
32-year-old Turner is originally from Hammersmith, London, and grew up in Chelsea. Before making a name for himself in the Harry Potter series, he appeared in the Assassin’s Creed film, as well as the 2015 adaptation of Victor Frankenstein.
Ladbrokes Alex Apati commented: “Callum Turner has been the subject of plenty of Bond interest over the last few days, so much so that we’ve been forced to slash his odds accordingly.”
Turner’s inclusion in the Bond odds places him just a few spots behind some of the frontrunners for 007. Many of which are massive Hollywood stars.
At the top of the leaderboard is Henry Cavill with a staggering 2/1. The British actor is best known for playing Superman in the DC Comics films Man of Steel and Batman V Superman.

Page has previously commented on how he doesn’t believe he is a real candidate, however. Instead, he thinks rumours suggesting he’ll be the next Bond are just “flattery”.
But he isn’t the only Bridgerton star in the running. He was recently joined by Jonathan Bailey, who played Viscount Bridgerton in the second season of the show.
Despite being a relative newcomer to the odds, Bailey has been given a powerful 16/1 on claiming the role. Although, he still has a long way to go to beat the likes of Tom Hardy.
Hardy is best known for playing the titular antihero in Venom. This is on top of making appearances in Peaky Blinders and Dunkirk.
The British star has become a major player in the Bond odds over the past two years. This development came as a rumour hit that he had already been cast as Bond behind the scenes.
This rumour was never confirmed nor denied. But since then, his odds have been cut to a strong 5/1.
