Phoebe Bridgers slammed after claims Queen ‘stole and violated lives’

Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday, with Buckingham Palace making the announcement which left the globe in mourning. American singer Phoebe Bridgers, 28, has come under strong criticism after she shared a post claiming the Queen “stole, violated and traumatised lives” during her 70-year reign.

Phoebe has come under fire from fans who criticised her for sharing a statement which hit out at the Queen and her 70-year reign.

The American singer shared a post on her Instagram story in view of her 1.9 million followers.

The post read: “Today we mourn all the stolen, violated, and traumatised lives who were affected and destroyed during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

“Today is a brutal reminder that war criminals will be honoured while entire populations and societies bear the battle scars of colonial genocidal violence, invasion, religious persecution and white supremacy.”

Following his mother’s death Thursday, Prince Charles was immediately appointed King Charles III, while his wife Camilla became the Queen Consort.

Yesterday, he addressed the nation for the first time since the news.

He began his speech by paying tribute to his late mum, who he described as “an inspiration”.

“We owe her the most heartfelt debt any family can owe to their mother for her love, affection, guidance, understanding and example,” he shared.
