Lovi Poe believes relationships should not be categorized

Actress Lovi Poe is not a big fan of putting a label on relationships.

In “Sleep With Me,” she plays Luna, a girl who suffers from a sleep disorder that only allows her to fall asleep during the day; she also falls in love with the DJ character of Janine Gutierrez. On this note, Poe said she has not been ever courted by a lesbian.

“Ako, (Me) I don’t have the experience na ligawan ng tomboy (of being courted by a lesbian). But don’t see anything wrong with that. I mean if you like someone, you like someone. Love is love. You don’t have to categorize it,” she said during the face-to-face conference for iWantTFC’s new original offering, last Aug. 4.

Poe likewise thinks that gender is not where love emanates from.

“Is the relationship good for you? At the end of the day, if the person uplifts you, makes you happy, you know, it’s not a toxic relationship, you become a better person because of your partner, then that’s the person. That’s the right person,” she said.

As Luna who is suffering from sleep phase syndrome, Poe related that she was given materials to read to portray her character effectively, and of course, she had to arrive at the set fully prepared.
