While Sunil applauded the students’ work for it being at par with international standards, Ashish was fascinated by the thematic representation. Both of them also praised the faculty members for mentoring the students so well.
Another highlight of the fashion shows was the collaboration with Hansgrohe, which was a perfect example of amalgamation of creativity with technology. The multi-functional shower AXOR Showerheaven 1200 x 300 was the showstopper, where the shower unveiled the classy outfits on the ramp. This had never been done on an Indian fashion ramp before.
Besides the fashion shows, panel discussions and workshops were organized on entrepreneurship and Metaverse. Digital art and exhibits showcased by School of Creative Practice were done in collaboration with Google Collab Research Centre and Artificial Intelligence Diffusion Models, which caught everybody’s attention. Using fashion tech as their primary language, students also designed ‘Mimesis’ or simply called ‘the reflector dress’ as a conversation starter on self-reflection amongst their peers and with the help of Snapchat they developed a digital version of it. School of Design students and faculty displayed their unique projects such as ‘Jal Sathi’, ARTEMIS 389 Patient Transfer Equipment and multifunctional space exploration vehicle. The students of School of Contemporary Media put up an exemplary display of fiction films, fashion films, documentaries and augmented reality-based projects.
Pearl Academy D-School of Business, true to its ethos of digital and disruption, created Augmented Reality Markers to showcase the exhaustive student research at the click of a button. The markers were created using multiple QR codes which were read by proprietary AR software. The reader was required to point the digital screen at the AR marker and pop-ups of chosen variable became live on the screen”.
Industry experts from Whirlpool, Havells, IBM attended Portfolio 2022 and congratulated Pearl Academy students on their achievements. More than 2000 fashion and design aspirants from 40 schools of Delhi-NCR also attended Portfolio 2022 and went back inspired.
