Lotteries’ luckiest suburbs revealed
Australia’s top lottery-winning locations have been revealed by The Lott’s Matt Hart, with Victoria taking out top spot once again.
For the sixth year in a row, Victorian suburbs are looking most likely to produce a winning ticket, with 153 division one winners recorded this financial year, totalling $467 million in prize money.
A total of 532 division one winners were announced throughout Australia between July 2021 and June 2022.
NSW and the ACT were home to 141 winners, totalling $464.8 million in prize money, just a few million shy of Victoria.
Queensland welcomed 104 new millionaires, with a division one prize pool of $350.2 million, and Western Australia had 73 winners, with a total of $256.8 million collected.
The Lott spokesman James Eddy reminded lottery players that despite the trends this financial year, winners can be found in any location across the country.
“Some players tell us they deliberately pick outlets that have recently sold a major prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak, while other players choose different outlets, believing good fortune awaits for them elsewhere,” Mr Eddy said.
“As many lottery winners tell us, you’ve got to be in it for the chance to win it!”
