WYONG

BEST BET

Race 1, No.5: QUEENMAKER

Came away late and was strong through the line when breaking her maiden at Hawkesbury last start beating a subsequent winner.

NEXT BEST

Race 2, No.3: FLYWAY

A stablemate of Queenmaker (and Duais), this Star Turn gelding is building up to a win and finds the perfect race.

VALUE BET

Race 7, No.2: SOVEREIGN EXPRESS

Was building up to that last start win in a Newcastle maiden. This doesn’t look an overly strong Class 1.

QUADDIE

Race 5: 1,2,5,9

Race 6: 1,2,3,4

Race 7: 1,2,4,6

Race 8: 3,5,9.10

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

William Pike can skip out to an early lead in the TAB Jockeys Challenge thanks to Queenmaker in the opener

MOREE

BEST BET

Race 5, No.2: RED BERYL

Been a model of consistency for a fair while now. Just need an ‘out’ for the inside draw.

NEXT BEST

Race 3, No.14: YORKER

Winless after 17 starts but has placed seven times and often in better maidens than this one.

VALUE BET

Race 7, No.7: CLIFFS OF MOHER

Gets in well at the weights after the claim for outstanding apprentice Anna Roper.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR WYONG

RACE 1

Queenmaker is trained by Edward Cummings and just happens to be out of a mare who is a three-quarter sister to the dam of his brother James’s star colt – Anamoe. As for Queenmaker, the daughter of Tavistock handed in a career P.B last start at Hawkesbury easily beating a subsequent winner in Count On Me. If you believe in confidence boosting wins, that was surely one. Roccaforte is no Profondo (few are) but this son of Snitzel has been very consistent of late and ‘the Tudor Prince form’ looks even better now. King Kikau has drawn to be prominent throughout.

Bet: Queenmaker to win

RACE 2

Flyway can give Edward Cummings an early double from his only two runners. This gelding is a son of Star Turn in the Gerry Harvey colours. You could see the improvement in him in his first two runs hence why he was $71 into $31 at his third and most recent start. He ran a blinder too, just bumped into a decent one in Arale who is city class. Coudreau, the former Waller housed filly, sent out some good signs at start three for James Ponsonby when she was a somewhat unlucky second to a repeat winner at Coonamble. Riccos has been disappointing at his last two, the two before that though were good. Respect Regal Pom.

Bet: Flyway to win

RACE 3

Cairdeas’s third dam is NZ Oaks winner Savannah Success, the mother of Savabeel, so it is only reasonable to assume she will get better as time goes by. Even so, the Joe Pride-trained filly sent out some very good signs at her first prep. If she isn’t here, perhaps she will go to Kembla on Thursday. Big watch on My Truth, a first starter for Anthony Cummings and whose trials are a million times better than they read. My Truth is part owned by Nearco Stud who bred HK idol Beauty Generation who started out with Cummings himself. Waller/Bowman/Orbis gelding Inuwashi is a market watch. Exo Angel is racing towards a peak performance.

Bet: Cairdeas to win or if scratched My Truth each-way

RACE 4

Separatist is a first crop son of Pariah trained by Blake Ryan. A handsome and racy chestnut, Separatist never really budged from around $20 in betting when he debuted on the Kensington track on June 29. He actually gave a very good account of himself, all things being equal. The winner (Aurman) could be anything and Ryan’s colt chased a shot speed and only tired late without giving up the ghost. Diamond Tipped was sent for a break after his Boxing Day third on the Beaumont. Hard not to be impressed with his trial win here on June 29. Verzenay’s chances went up when she drew well.

Bet: Separatist to win

RACE 5

Millybella is the blue blood of the day. This Gerry Harvey-bred and owned filly is the 12th foal of VRC Oaks runner-up Kylikwong, the dam of three stakes horses and the grandam of Alligator Blood. On top of all that, Kylikwong is a half to Typhoon Tracy. Cut a long story short, Millybella has that unmistakeable I Am Invincible look about her; she might be in much better races – soon. It’s not a slam dunk though given the presence of Fire And Ice, the Mark Minervini-trained grandson of his own former bonny mare, Vormista. Bowman, barrier 1 and he trialled like a bomb at Randwick the other day. Calaway Gal grandson could be saved for Kensington on Wednesday.

Bet: Millybella to win, quinella 1,9

RACE 6

Allusionist drew 11 but looks like he will be coming in a far few towards the inside rail which can only make him more likeable and much harder to beat for the others. This Richard and Will Freedman-trained son of Super One has a decent C.V at present of 10 starts for a win and four placings. Take it as fact that he is a far superior horse to a ‘Nowra Maiden winner’. Ripping good trial win the other day too. Nipotino races in the colours of his bonny mother, Nieta. This Snitzel colt is her first foal and he is already a city winner beating two very handy types in Hell I Am and Magic Carpet. Sneaky Paige and the underrated Critical Time are in contention.

Bet: Allusionist to win

RACE 7

Sovereign Express is a close relation and races in the same camp as that very good money-spinner Sons Of John who went within a short head of beating Winx in the Theo Marks one day. As for this grandson of Just Trish, he is a lightly-raced and progressive horse. This is hardly the best Class 1 ever run on the Central Coast. Believe So accepted for a race in town on Wednesday but this is an offer too good to refuse, surely. Beenvane is a Dundeel filly who was scratched from a race at Hawkesbury to run here instead. Mile suits. Stryke ‘Em Onesie’s chances went up when the track was upgraded from Heavy to Soft.

Bet: Sovereign Express to win

RACE 8

Siyata has a terrible draw on paper (15 of 18) but it is going a lot better than that. That said, John O’Shea has a few options with this GB-import so he might wait a day or two. Whatever the case, wherever she goes, she is getting very close to an Australian win. It all shapes well for the Kris Lees-trained Terrameades in the last. This filly had been outstanding prior to her June 4 failure (raced wide) at Rosehill but she went back to the trials (here) and went super. Duty, the $1 million yearling back in 2020, is unplaced in four first-up appearances but his trials this time in are quite compelling.

Bet: Siyata to win or if scratched Terrameades to win and Duty to place
