Punjab Board Class 10th Result 2022: Nancy Rani of Ferozepur tops exams – Times of India
Nancy and Dilpreet scored 644/650 are actually joint first but as Nancy is younger in age so she has been ranked first and Dilpreet is second. They both scored 98.08% marks. Similarly, Komalpreet Kaur is third as she is youngest amongst 8 students who scored 642/650 marks with 98.77% and ranked joint second in the merit listing.
Other seven students who scored 98.77% marks are Anchal Jindal of B.C.M. Senior Secondary School, Jamalpur Colony, Focal Point Ludhiana, Simranjeet Kaur of Shri Atam Vallabh Jain Vidyapeeth, Zira Ferozepur, Sahejpreet Kaur of Moon Light Public Senior Secondary School, Hedonbet Ludhiana, Bhumika of S.D Public Senior Secondary School, Appra Jalandhar, Eknoor Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Warsola Gurdaspur and Sargunpreet Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Dhada Fateh Singh, Hoshiarpur.
Similarly, as per the merit list three students are placed third and they are Gurleen Kaur of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimla Puri (Ludhiana,) Balram Suri of New St. Soldier Senior Secondary Public School, Guru Ravidass Nagar Jalandhar City and Sabreen Parveen of R.S. Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar (Ludhiana) as they all scored 641/650 at 98.62%.
Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) declared the class X examination results and see a slight dip in the overall pass percentage. This year the total pass percentage is 99.06% which was 99.93% in 2021.
As once again the girls outshine boys and third year in succession, the government schools continue to soar ahead of affiliated, associated and aided schools, said the board Chairman Yograj Sharma.
While elaborating the details, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Secretary Janak Raj Mehrok said that out of total 3,11,545 students appeared, 3,08,627 students, (99.06%) passed the board examinations this year. Whereas, last year the pass percentage was 99.93%, slight dip this time by 0.48%.
Girls have once again outshined boys as the pass percentage of Girls is 99.34% which was 97.78% last year whereas the boys scored 98.83% which was 96.27% last year. The pass percentage of the students of rural area schools is 99.21% which was 96.9% last year and the students of urban area schools scored a total pass percentage of 98.75% which was 97% last year, he said.
Chairman of the Board, Yograj Sharma said, “This time we were able to conduct the exams and the students have bettered their previous results. Also, the students of the government school pass percentage is 99.11 %, Aided schools pass percentage is 97.89 %, pass percentage of associated school is 98.88%, pass percentage of affiliated and Adarsh schools is 99.34 %.”
Gurdaspur tops with 99.52% and Ferozepur top from bottom with 98.65%
Gurdaspur district has topped in the state with 99.52% pass percentage whereas Gurdaspur was ranked last with 94.21% in total pass percentage in 2021. This year Ferozepur is ranked first from the bottom with 98.65% as overall pass percentage.
Pathankot is the second district in the state with 99.48% total pass percentage followed by SBS Nagar with 99.42%.
Malerkotla has scored 99.19% and is placed 9th in the district wise merit list of the state. In Gurdaspur, a total of 19,674 students appeared out of which 19,580 passed; In Pathankot, a total of 6,696 students appeared out of which 6,661 passed; In SBS Nagar, a total of 6,854 students appeared out of which 6,814 passed and in Malerkotla, a total of 4,578 students appeared out of which 4,541 passed.
Govt schools pass percentage improves
The overall pass percentage of the government schools improved substantially as compared to the last year. This year government school pass percentage is 99.11 % which was 97.43% last year, improved by 1.68%, said Chairman Yograj Sharma.
Though, the Government Schools have again proved their mettle by sustaining glory for the consecutive third year in the class X PSEB examination results declared here today, said the PSEB Chairman Yograj Sharma. It seems that the motivational drive launched to convert government schools into “Smart Schools” in infrastructural facilities as well as qualitative improvement in teaching-learning process and the tremendous efforts put in by the teachers under the department’s “Mission Cent Percent”, has virtually outsmarted the private schools in the state, he said.
