Theme park sparks fury by offering cheap tickets to guests wearing short skirts

A THEME park has triggered anger after offering discounts on entry to people who turn up in their school uniforms.

To make matters worse, Leofoo Village Theme Park in Taiwan is giving extra perks to those in short skirts.

Young female visitors can nab admission for NT$500 (around £13.50) instead of the usual NT$999 (roughly £27).

The promotion, which is advertised on the theme park’s Instagram account, runs until August 31.

According to Insider, Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA) reported that they can also claim a free photo shoot if the hem of their skirts ends at least 10cm – or 3.9 inches – above their knees.

The move has sparked an outcry among those who suggest that the campaign is objectifying women.

Speaking to CNA, Wu Tzu-ying, the executive secretary of the non-profit Modern Women’s Foundation, suggested that it could increase the risk of females being upskirted – where someone takes a picture under someone’s clothing without their consent.

They reported that the decision had been described as “lewd” in an online forum.

The theme park defended itself to the same publication, insisting that there are no rules on gender or age.

This means, theoretically, that adult men can make the most of the offer if they arrive in short skirts.

However, the pictures they have used to promote the offer are of what appear to be young girls in school uniforms.

Visitors to the attraction, which is located near Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, can enjoy a series of rides as well as see animals like meerkats and bears.

It comes after a popular Aussie theme park was branded sexist for banning G-string bikinis in cheeky advert.
