Kate and Rio’s son Cree was born back in December 2020, following her marriage to Rio in September 2019.. Rio shared sons Lorenz, 15, and Tate, 13, and daughter Tia, ten, with his late wife Rebecca Ellison. Rebecca died from breast cancer back in 2015.
Kate revealed in the inaugural episode of her podcast, Blended, she felt a “loss” in her house on her very first Mother’s Day last year. She said: “For me, personally, Mother’s Day is a day I struggle with. I am fortunate to have three amazing step children and my biological son Cree.
“But sadly my stepchildren lost their mum at a young age, and also my husband has lost his mum.
“And I really, really struggled with Mother’s Day even before I was a biological parent.
“Somehow I thought it may be easier when I had Cree my son, but actually last year was probably the toughest Mother’s Day to date.
