Fast-food delivery rider arrested on suspicion drug dealing
Police swooped to arrest a fast-food delivery rider on suspicion of dealing drugs. And Greater Manchester Police’s hilarious reveal of the takedown in Manchester city centre – saying officers ‘found more than the chef’s special’ – has gone viral on social media.
The man, who hasn’t been named, was held by police based in GMP’s Manchester city centre division on Saturday. No age for him has been revealed, but the force confirmed he was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.
As of Saturday night, he remained in police custody for questioning. GMP went on to tweet an image of the arrested man, who was wearing a blue jacket and a motorcycle helmet, stood in handcuffs.
His insulated food bag was also captured on the ground by his side. Police also tweeted an image of the bag’s contents, which appeared to show bags of drugs in amongst fast-food food bags. A later image showed the haul seized – bank notes were captured alongside snap-bags and blister packets of drugs.
Officers said they initially targeted the delivery rider as they believed him to be ‘acting suspiciously’.
In a tongue-in-cheek social media post, officers based in Manchester city centre said: “We saw a delivery rider acting suspiciously today, upon searching him, we found more than the Chef’s Special! He was then arrested for Possession with Intent To Supply Drugs & remains in police custody for questioning.
“P.S. We’re sorry if you didn’t get your delivery!” No further details have been revealed.
