Idris Elba reveals the song Megan Markle asked the DJ to play at her wedding

Idris Elba has revealed the song that Megan Markle requested he play at her wedding party to Prince Harry and the answer may surprise you. Speaking on BBC Radio 1Xtra last night the actor and DJ revealed that Still DRE by Dr Dre “went off” when he played it at the after party and was specifically requested by Megan.

The Luther star played the tune after Megan and Harry tied the knot at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2018. He was on BBC 1Xtra’s Rap Show last night with Tiffany Claver co presenting the Rap Show.

Idris was a DJ long before his career took off as an actor. He has released many songs and featured in hit tracks like Boasty, Dance Off and more. During the Netflix series Turn Up Charlie, Idris was given the chance to showcase both his talents at the same time when he hit the decks. The show was cancelled after one season.

Later in the BBC episode, Elba was joined by Top Boy star Ashley Walters, who asked if Elba would accept a role in a new season of the show. He said: “If there was a next season of Top Boy and we were casting for Dushane’s long lost brother, are you taking it?”

To which Elba replied: “Did I just get offered a part in Top Boy on the radio?! You know what, every actor that watches Top Boy probably thinks the same; ‘Boy I would kill that you know, I would love to be in that’.”
