Lindsay Lohan makes light of DUI by bejewelling ankle tag in Super Bowl ad
The actress, 35, stars in an upcoming Super Bowl commercial in which other stars are shocked at the change in her behaviour from her famous party girl past and former DUI arrests.
Lindsay stars in the Planet Fitness ad alongside William Shatner, Danny Trejo, Dennis Rodman and Jeopardy winner Buzzy Cohen.
The Mean Girls star can be seen going hell for leather on an exercise bike as the rest of the gym goers ask: ‘What’s gotten into Lindsay?!’
William says in a voiceover: ‘She’s never been sharper,’ as Lindsay correctly answers a question on a celebrity episode of Jeopardy.
He adds: ‘She’s sleeping better than ever, which the paparazzi aren’t thrilled about,’ as a group of photographers cry outside a nightclub wishing for the old Lindsay to return.
William then tells the viewers: ‘She’s even more productive, trading DUIs for DIY,’ as Lindsay can be seen bejewelling an ankle tag on Danny Trejo, spelling out his initials in crystals on the monitor.
Lindsay had been arrested twice in 2007 for driving under the influence and had her probation extended for a year in 2009 after she failed to attend substance abuse treatment which was required under the conditions.
She was also required to wear an ankle monitor in 2011 and be under house arrest after stealing a necklace from a shop in California.
Lindsay has since turned her life around, as is celebrated in the advert, which will air during the third quarter of Super Bowl LVI on February 13, according to reports from Variety.
Jeremy Tucker, Planet Fitness’s chief marketing officer told the outlet: ‘We really tried to have fun with it and find someone who could really own the stage at the Super Bowl for us.’
Lindsay told Extra about filming the commercial: ‘It’s more fun when you’re doing the Super Bowl because it’s so secretive, so you feel like you’re doing something wrong but so good.
‘It was the first thing that I’ve shot in LA in years, that was exciting too just to be back and have that energy of being at a studio, doing a commercial, setting up, getting to set, it was really exciting and really fun.’
