The Masked Singer UK fans have been racking their brains trying to figure out who Firework could be – with many drawing the conclusion that it could be EastEnders star Lacey Turner.

On the latest episode of the ITV series tonight, Poodle became the fifth contestant to be eliminated, as Tom Chaplin, the lead singer of Keane was unmasked.

Earlier, Firework took to the stage in an enthusiastic fashion, wowing judges Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Rita Ora and Jonathan Ross with their rendition of Kids by Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue.

They offered brand new clues in their VT, some of which prompted several viewers to suspect that they had pinpointed the celebrity’s identity.

So could it be Lacey, best-known for playing Stacey Slater in the BBC soap? Let’s look at the evidence.

In their clues package, at one point, they were seen walking past a square block with the letters ‘ALBTRE’ scrambled – which has to refer to Albert Square, aka the fictional location in EastEnders.

So sure, that could mean the person underneath the costume is anyone who’s linked to EastEnders… but why Lacey?

In the video before their most recent performance, Firework was seen hanging up socks on a washing line, all of which were designed with fox patterns.

In February last year, the actor gave birth to her second child with husband Matt Kay – a son called Trilby Fox Kay.

To add even more fuel to speculation that Firework is indeed Lacey, the character mentioned that they’ve been known to rhyme.

While one of the judges thought that could mean they’re a rapper, putting forward musician Lady Leshurr as their guess, the clue might just be in relation to the fact that Lacey Turner partly rhymes with Stacey Slater.

We’re convinced. But what did Masked Singer viewers have to say?

‘I was also thinking Lacey Turner for Firework… has she not just had a little boy who she named Fox? They were on the socks,’ one person tweeted.

‘Firework has to be some from Eastenders. Lacey Turner?’ someone else said, while another wrote: ‘“Bla tre” = ALBERT and was in a square! Eastenders character. Lacey Turner?’

Other guesses for Firework put forward by the panel have included Spice Girl Mel C, Michelle Keegan, Anne-Marie and Dani Dyer.

So who do you think it could be?

The Masked Singer UK returns next Saturday at 7pm on ITV and is available to watch on ITV Hub.
