Queen is ‘representative of nostalgic values’ – ‘public are deeply attached’ to ‘her duty’
Queen Elizabeth, 95, became the sovereign on February 6, 1952 after the death of her father, King George VI. The Queen had a particularly hard year in 2021 after her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, died on April 9, 2021. She also spent some nights in hospital during the last 12 months due to preliminary tests and carried out the majority of her royal engagements virtually.
This has caused the public to admire their 95-year-old monarch even more for continuing to perform her duties in her 90s.
Analysis of Google search data reveals that searches for ‘cards for the Queen’ have skyrocketed 2100 percent in the UK in January 2022.
A new finding by search engine analytics company Search Intelligence revealed that searches for ‘cards for the queen’ skyrocketed to 25 times the average volume in one day.
This was an unprecedented spike in people Googling ‘cards for the Queen’.

The data also revealed that searches for ‘can you write to the Queen?’ skyrocketed 1000 percent.
This was 11 times the average volume in the month of January.
A spokesperson for Search Intelligence commented on the findings exclusively for Express.co.uk.
They said: “This year is potentially the biggest in all of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, as it marks 70 years for her on the throne.

“This is a feat no other monarch in history has ever achieved.
“It is the culmination and no doubt continuation of the promise she made on her 21st birthday that her whole life, ‘whether it be long or short’, would be dedicated to the service of this country and its people,” the expert noted.
They continued: “However, 2021 – the year just passed – was marked by grief for Her Majesty with the passing of her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip.
“It also involved bouts of ill health which sparked concern for the Queen across the whole nation.
“The huge rise in searches for ‘how to write to the Queen’ and ‘cards for the Queen’ emphasise the concern and love that many across the country feel for their 95-year-old monarch who has never, despite her age, once stepped back from her duty.
“As the Queen heads into her jubilee year, the concern and support of the public are clearly very much behind her.
“Many hope to see her thrive this year and celebrate a long and wonderful reign, in which she has kept the monarchy steadfast and stable with her enduring commitment to the crown.”
The expert went on to discuss the Queen’s rough year in 2021 and how her duty and devotion to service has kept the British public in awe of their monarch.
They added: “The image of the Queen in St George’s Chapel, masked, dressed in black and sitting alone, dwarfed by the carved wooden pews looming against her back and bidding farewell to her husband of 73 years, is an enduring image of grief, lockdown and the price many had to pay.
“The public is deeply attached to the Queen as a representative of nostalgic values: respect, grace and an unwavering commitment to duty in the face of adversity.
“In wartime, the whole country pulled together.
“This included Buckingham Palace, which was bombed twice, and the Queen who lived through the war is fully aware that leading by example is one of the first rules of effective, trustworthy leadership.”
