Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele throws bottle and sulks after Eric Dier training tackle

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele was unhappy with a tackle by Eric Dier, which led to the Frenchman throwing a cup in disgust during an open training session at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

New boss Nuno Espirito Santo was overseeing a training session in front of the club’s supporters in North London.

It is just the second time that fans have been allowed inside the stadium since March 2020.

Coronavirus restrictions have prevented attendees at the majority of football matches in England.

But there was the potential for a very public piece of tension during a mini game between the first-team players.

Ndombele received the ball on the left side of the reduced-sized pitch.

Ndombele was clearly unhappy with either the tackle or at not being given a free kick.

He remained seated on the turf for a few seconds before rising to his feet but made no attempt to join in with play.

A goal was then scored before the match halted.

Ndombele trudged to the side of the pitch and grabbed a small cup, which he attempted to launch across the pitch in frustration.

He then took a seat before Dier walked over. The pair appeared to shake hands, suggesting that there were no ill feelings between the pair.

The footage was captured by Football.London’s Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold.

Ndombele’s future at Spurs is uncertain having endured some inconsistent form since arriving from Lyon for a huge £55million fee two years ago.

There have been flashes of brilliance, including a debut goal against Aston Villa in 2019 before a wonderful lob against Sheffield United last term.

Spurs reportedly want to sign Houssem Aouar and it has been rumoured that Ndombele could be used as makeweight in a deal with his former club.

But it is likely that the midfielder will instead try to force his way into Nuno’s team, with the Portuguese offering a clean slate following Jose Mourinho’s failed 17-month spell.

Ndombele was signed by Mauricio Pochettino in the summer of 2019, but the Argentine departed the following November.

He played in 57 of Mourinho’s 86 games in charge.
