Airtel is set to enter home surveillance solutions business by launching a new sub-brand. According to industry sources, the company has initiated the pilot testing of the new surveillance service for smart homes under the X-Safe brand in Delhi-NCR. As a part of the pilot, the solution is currently available only to a few Airtel Xstream Fiber broadband customers in the capital. The service can be availed by paying Rs 99 per month. Customers can also opt for an yearly subscription priced at Rs 999.
X-safe solution includes a range of indoor and outdoor security HD cameras with advanced features such as H.265 compression, 360-degree view, colour night vision, IP67 rating, privacy shutter and human detection. Apart from this, the service comprises FTTH broadband connectivity and telco grade cloud storage. This first-of-its-kind subscription-based surveillance solution by Airtel will enable the users to monitor both indoors and outdoor areas anytime from their smartphones.
As per the sources, the customers will have to bear the one time cost for the smart cameras. The monthly or yearly subscription will include the access to the company’s cloud storage service where the videos will be saved. The sources further reveal that the company is currently offering three camera options to customers to choose from. Smart home gadgets are slowly making their ground in the Indian market and such solutions from popular service providers will likely boost the segment.
