Man United confirm dividend payments to Glazer family
Manchester United have confirmed they will make dividend payments to their shareholders in January of next year as part of their latest financial results.
United released their latest quarterly financial figures on Wednesday with news of a fresh dividend payment to their current shareholders, the bulk of which will go the Glazer family.
A club press release read: “a semi-annual cash dividend of $0.09 per share will be paid on 7 January 2022, to shareholders of record on 1 December 2021. The stock will begin to trade ex-dividend on 30 November 2021.”
Dividends are paid twice a year, in January and June, with the majority of those dividends being paid to the six Glazer family members who hold shares in the club.
It comes amid news United’s net debt had marginally decreased from £440.6 million as of 30 September 2020 to £439.7 million by the same time this year, a difference of just 0.2 per cent.
Departing executive vice-chairman did not speak in the absence of a quarterly call with investors but did release a brief statement insisting the club’s priority remains on-field matters.
“While these financial results today demonstrate our resilience through the pandemic, our top priority is success on the pitch,” he insisted. “The manager, players and everyone at the club are determined to achieve that objective.”
Woodward is set to leave United at the end of the year but could be given a new consultancy role which would see him retain some influence at the club.
United have not officially appointed his successor as of yet though current director Richard Arnold is expected to replace him in the role.
