Frequent flyer reveals their very simple method to make packing much easier
A FREQUENT flyer has revealed the very simple method he uses whenever he has to pack a suitcase.
Fitting everything you need in your luggage can be difficult, but there are ways in which you can make more room for yourself.
Comedian and presenter Pax Assadi travels a lot for his work and has come up with a simple, but effective, way of creating room in his bag.
In an interview with the New Zealand Herald, he was asked for his tips for packing for a big trip.
He simply replied: “Buy the biggest suitcase money can buy so I don’t have to overthink it.”
For those of us who aren’t able to pay to check in a suitcase, or in a position to buy a huge one, there are still ways to reduce the costs.
This includes packing cubes, which some flight attendants swear by when trying to fit more in their bags.
Writing on a Reddit forum for flight attendants, they explained why they were such a game-changer for getting more into your suitcase when travelling.
They wrote: “I bought myself some packing cubes a few years ago when I was doing some solo traveling and they are the BOMB.
“I didn’t get crazy fancy ones but let me tell you, these have served me very well and I have yet to rip, bust, or otherwise damage one in any way (and I’m a total clutz so that’s saying something).
“Really helps with efficient packing/organizing, plus if your bag somehow pops open your clothes and stuff don’t end up like confetti on the ground wherever you are.”
Another flight attendant agreed, saying: ” I have been using them for almost a year and they’re great.
“Literally 0 complaints and I love that they’re not even the slightest bit rigid like some other ones. There’s lots of sizes too so you can use a combo of sizes that works best for you.”
Travel writer Sarah James is also a big fan of the cubes, but uses a special kind to squeeze even more in her case.
In an article in Conde Nast Traveller, she wrote: “I can explain the secret to carry-on only luggage in two words: packing cubes.
“The magic trick of this product becomes all the more magical when you add a third word: compression packing cubes.”
In the same article, Sarah recommended packing outfits together so more versatile pieces of clothing can be prioritised.
She also suggested rolling clothes into the cubes and using them to organise items like shoes and charging cables too.
Meanwhile, this mum revealed how she packed for a five week family holiday, using only hand luggage.
And this passenger revealed how they travel with hand luggage only every time they travel, even on long-haul trips.
