iPhone owners are just realising there’s a trick to avoid iCloud price hike
IPHONE users aren’t happy about Apple’s recent iCloud price hikes.
The firm announced that costs are rising by up to 28 per cent depending on the size option you have for your iPhone.
It’s cheapest and most common package with 50GB went up from 79p to 99p per month.
“The worlds richest company want 30% more per month for iCloud storage during a cost of living crisis,” one user said.
“Apple not happy with their profits are putting up the cost of ICloud storeage next month,” another complained.
But there is a trick that could help you save – if you know other family who also have their own iCloud account.
This only works if you’re paying for the 50GB plan and know three others who do too.
And that’s with the iCloud Family offer.
“Each person’s files and documents remain private, but it’s easy to see how much storage everyone is using,” Apple says.
The 200GB plan costs £2.99 and you can share it with family.
So if you use it with three others, you could split the cost and still get 50GB.
It would cost you 75p each per month – which is actually cheaper than the old individual 50GB price of 79p.
Others have looked at another option, switching from Apple entirely.
One popular choice is Google Drive, which has a more generous free allowance of 15GB.
