Carrie told how their baby would be born “in just a few weeks”, adding that she’s had an “exhausting eight months”.

And today it was revealed that she had given birth to a healthy baby Boy.

On Instagram Carrie wrote: “Welcome to the world Frank Alfred Odysseus Johnson born 5th July at 9.15am. (Can you guess which name my husband chose?!)

“Am loving every minute of the sleepy baby bubble. Seeing my older two embrace their new brother with such joy and excitement has been the most wonderful thing to see. We are all very smitten.

“Thank you so much to the incredible NHS maternity team at UCLH. They really are the most amazing, caring people. I feel such immense gratitude.

“Now, can anyone recommend any good series/box sets to binge while breastfeeding?

“Time for a drink.”

The couple, who married in July 2021, already share son Wilfred, three, and daughter Romy, one.

Rosemary Iris Charlotte – who goes by Romy – was born on December 9, 2021, and is named after Carrie’s aunt Rosemary and Boris’s late mother.

Their son, Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, was born in April 2020, just weeks after the then-prime minister spent time in intensive care with Covid-19.

Boris already has a number of children from different women.

The birth of his third child with Carrie will bring the total up to eight and there is a 27 year age gap between his eldest Lara and Romy.

Boris resigned as prime minister in July 2022, when he stepped down from what he called “the best job in the world”.

In an address outside No10, the defeated PM said he was so “sad” to be forced out of the job he loves but conceded: “Them’s the breaks.”

In a packed Downing Street, thronged with supporters including Carrie and baby Romy, he thanked the millions who voted for him in a historic landslide.

It is currently unknown whether Boris will take paternity leave as MP to spend time with his family.

Before the birth of Wilfred, Mr Johnson had said he wanted to take a fortnight off when his baby was expected to be born in June.

But Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas was born on April, 29, 2020,  just 16 days after Boris fought for his life in intensive care with coronavirus – and after Carrie’s own fight with the deadly bug.

The PM had to delay his leave to lead the country in the fight against coronavirus.

According to the Government rules, Mr Johnson must take his two-week paternity leave within 56 days of the child’s birth.
