79 per cent turnout on first day of OJEE – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: The OJEE authorities on Monday recorded 79 per cent turnout of examinees on the first day of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE-2021) which will continue till September 18. More number of candidates have appeared for the examination on the first day this year. Last year, it was 70 per cent.

Total 13,200 candidates had registered with the OJEE to appear for the first day of the test, but 10,461 of them attended the examination for the B Pharm course. “We have recorded 79 per cent turnout in each shift of the day,” said OJEE chairman SK Chand.

He said they are conducting examinations in three shifts per day. “This computer-based test is conducted like JEE Main. Around 55,500 students are appearing for the entrance tests in 57 centres covering all 30 districts. Outside Odisha, examination centres have been arranged in Kolkata, Ranchi and Patna,” he added.
Chand said they have taken all precautions and Covid-19 protocols of the government in examination centres. “The OJEE was conducted smoothly across the state and outside,” he added.

On September 7, examinations will be conducted for lateral entry (LE) tech (diploma) and integrated MBA. On September 8 and 9, tests will be held for LE Tech (diploma), M Pharm, LE Pharm, LE Tech (BSc), MTech, M Arch and M Plan.

Tests for MCA will be held in three shifts on September 15, while candidates can sit for BTech and MCA on September 16 and September 18 respectively. The examination conducting authorities have given a five-day gap in the examination schedule due to Ganesh Puja on September 10 and NEET Exam on September 12.

OJEE is conducted every year for the purpose of holding common entrance examinations for admission into undergraduate (UG)/postgraduate (PG) level professional courses including BTech, MTech, MBA, MCA, MArch, MPlan, MPharm and BPharm in the state.
