7 ways to celebrate the luck of the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day

If you missed last week’s Denver St. Patrick’s Parade, don’t worry, you’re in luck, because St. Patrick’s Day isn’t even until Friday, March 17, so the party must go on.

Whether you’re craving some corned beef hash, a pitcher of green beer or the beautiful screech of bagpipes, there are plenty of celebrations around town to get your jig on.

Here are seven pubs, restaurants, or marketplaces throughout Denver metro to sport your green:

Clancy’s Irish Pub

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long at Colorado’s oldest and longest-running Irish Pub, Clancy’s in Wheat Ridge. From Friday, March 17 to 19, Clancy’s will be hosting more than a dozen bands, like Bleed N Green, on two stages, one inside and another outdoors with a large heated tent. See the full lineup here. Starting at 11 a.m., Scruffy Murphy’s will be offering a full day of entertainment on St. Patrick’s Day. Sip on some Guinness or Irish Whiskey with a side of Irish spring rolls or shepherd’s pie, while you enjoy the tunes. No cover charge.

Test out your Irish step dance moves at the Cherry Creek location, where live performances from the Mile Highlanders and Celtic Steps take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Toast to drink specials, such as $8 Guinness or $5 green Coors Light, while you dig into $16 corned beef and cabbage or The Dubliner burger with corned beef, potato chips and cheese sauce.

Stanley Marketplace is hosting a family-friendly celebration for St. Patrick’s Day, including a traditional Irish step dance performance by students from the Wick School of Irish Dance at noon. There will also be live music and green cerveza from Cheluna Brewing Co. Bonus: the Aurora Police Department will offer a safe ride home from Stanley Marketplace from March 16 to 18, if you live within 10 miles of the city limits.
