7 ways to celebrate the luck of the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day
If you missed last week’s Denver St. Patrick’s Parade, don’t worry, you’re in luck, because St. Patrick’s Day isn’t even until Friday, March 17, so the party must go on.
Whether you’re craving some corned beef hash, a pitcher of green beer or the beautiful screech of bagpipes, there are plenty of celebrations around town to get your jig on.
Here are seven pubs, restaurants, or marketplaces throughout Denver metro to sport your green:
Clancy’s Irish Pub
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long at Colorado’s oldest and longest-running Irish Pub, Clancy’s in Wheat Ridge. From Friday, March 17 to 19, Clancy’s will be hosting more than a dozen bands, like Bleed N Green, on two stages, one inside and another outdoors with a large heated tent. See the full lineup here. A $3 entry fee is required.

Scruffy Murphy’s Irish Pub
Starting at 11 a.m., Scruffy Murphy’s will be offering a full day of entertainment on St. Patrick’s Day. There will be Irish step dancers, pipers, drummers and live music, including performances from Chancer’s Hooley and The Stubby Shilleglaghs, on the patio and inside. Sip on some Guinness or Irish Whiskey with a side of Irish spring rolls or shepherd’s pie, while you enjoy the tunes. No cover charge.

The Cherry Cricket
The Cherry Cricket is getting in on the fun, too. Test out your Irish step dance moves at the Cherry Creek location, where live performances from the Mile Highlanders and Celtic Steps take place from 1 to 8 p.m. Toast to drink specials, such as $8 Guinness or $5 green Coors Light, while you dig into $16 corned beef and cabbage or The Dubliner burger with corned beef, potato chips and cheese sauce.

Stanley Marketplace
Stanley Marketplace is hosting a family-friendly celebration for St. Patrick’s Day, including a traditional Irish step dance performance by students from the Wick School of Irish Dance at noon. There will also be live music and green cerveza from Cheluna Brewing Co. Bonus: the Aurora Police Department will offer a safe ride home from Stanley Marketplace from March 16 to 18, if you live within 10 miles of the city limits.

Slattery’s Pub and Grill
Slattery’s Pub and Grill is bringing its St. Patrick’s Day party to the streets this year. From March 16 to 19, the Irish pub will extend celebrations to the street out front, starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday with the Greenwood Village City Council and Slattery’s owner Bill Psyllas and his team. Guests can grab a pint of Guinness and a plate of corned beef and cabbage while enjoying the sounds of Ciorcal Cairde Irish Pipes & Drums.

Seven Grand
If you want to skip the green beer this year, head to Seven Grand in the Dairy Block. From 10 to 2 a.m., the whiskey bar will be offering cocktail specials with Teeling Whiskey, Tullamore D.E.W. and Slane Irish Whiskey. There will also be a Teeling Whiskey tasting in the bar’s Mahogany Room from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Irish Rover
It wouldn’t be a St. Patrick’s Day roundup without including The Irish Rover, a classic Irish neighborhood pub on South Broadway. From 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., get your fill of Irish dancers, Irish music, bagpipers, corned beef, and Guinness on the rooftop patio.
