4 North-South railway segment deals finalized
The government is set to sign today four contract packages (CP) that form part of the 147-kilometer North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) System, which is designed to cut travel time between Pampanga and Laguna by half.
Transportation Undersecretary for Railways Cesar Chavez, in an interview with the Inquirer, said the following contracts were up for signing:
- CP4, for the construction of an 8.5-km railway linking Barangay Alabang and Muntinlupa Poblacion;
- CP5, for building a 12.8-km railway for train stations in San Pedro, Pacita, Biñan and Santa Rosa in Laguna;
- CP6, for the construction of elevated stations at Cabuyao, Banlic and Calamba in Laguna via a 10.2-km railway viaduct structure; and
- CP7, for the building and civil engineering works of a 22-hectare train depot.
The joint venture of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. and Dong-Ah Geological Engineering Co. Ltd. won CP4, CP5 and CP6.
On the other hand, the joint venture of Lotte Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Gülermak Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt A.Ş. and EEI Corp. bagged the CP7 contract.
