2800 appeared for army recruitment rally on first day in Uttar Pradesh – Times of India

The army recruitment rally of Uttar Pradesh for enrollment of Agniveers has kick started. On Friday the army recruiting office (ARO) Bareilly organized the first rally in Fatehgarh Cantonment and more than 2,800 appeared.
In total 20 rallies would be organized between August 19 to September 8 for 12 districts including Bareilly, Bahraich, Balrampur, Badaun, Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Shravasti and Sitapur.
For the first day approximately 4,500 candidates had registered from three tehsils of district Farrukhabad including Amritpur, Fatehgarh and Kaimganj, but over 2,800 appeared.
Army Recruitment
The rally is being organised with support from district administration, Rajput Regimental Centre and Sikh Light Infantry Regimental Center with the overall direction of station commander Brigade IMS Parmar.
The Agniveers will be inducted to the Indian Army under multiple trades like General Duty, Clerks/Store Keeper Technical, Tradesman and Soldier Technical.

It’s important to note that in
total 4.52 lakh youth have applied for Agnipath scheme from 37 districts of UP from three AROs including Agra, Bareilly and Meerut.
The online registration for the scheme is still open for other three AROs Lucknow, Amethi and Varanasi.
